An oil pipeline exploded in Bahrain on Friday, causing a massive fire near a market and a hospital. Authorities have evacuated people from their homes.
The interior ministry said there were no casualties. Firefighters are at the scene working to bring the blaze under control. The ministry said an investigation is underway.
The explosion happened near Buri village, close to the Al Amal hospital, about 15 km from the capital, Manama.
Al Bilad reports the explosion occurred near the Waqif market. Residents living in the area were told to clear the location. The Crown Prince road was closed as firefighters tackled the blaze.
