A United States consular office in the Swiss financial capital Zurich was evacuated after the discovery of a suspicious package Monday. Police at the scene later confirmed the object was ‘harmless.’

Staff found a suspicious package in the entrance Monday, newspaper Blick reports.

“For the SWAT team” was written on the outside of the package, according to staff who spoke to the newspaper. The package also reportedly contained anti-American messages and a phone number.

The street was blocked off for a time as a forensic team assessed the situation, but has since been reopened.

The U.S. Embassy in Bern has told RT.com that, while the situation is now under control, the Zurich office will remain closed Monday as a result of the incident.
