SpaceX founder Elon Musk wasn’t having his most brilliant moment when he accidentally sent out his phone number to his millions of followers on Twitter on Tuesday.
“Do you have a sec to talk? My cell is…” Musk said in a tweet sent to Oculus CTO John Carmack on Tuesday.
Although Musk quickly deleted the tweet, many of his millions of followers and journalists were able to grab his phone number.
The content of the message sparked speculation as to why Musk wanted to speak to Carmack, with some suggesting Musk could be trying to recruit Carmack or to find ways to incorporate Oculus virtual reality technology into one of his businesses, Bloomberg reports.
Facebook owns Oculus and a representative told Bloomberg Carmack doesn’t plan to leave the company. Tesla and SpaceX didn’t respond to requests for comment.

The phone number Musk provided goes to an answering machine. "By the Gods you've done it," the message says, CNBC reports. "Somehow you've found your way here to me. I offer you my congratulations and my respect."
The recording is from the Playstation God of War video game, one of two secret recordings that can be accessed by finding hidden phone numbers in the game.
