As the Syrian war continues, kindhearted souls in the country are making sure the nation's felines are looked after, providing them with tubes that supply food and water.
The @SyrianCats Twitter handle is exactly as it sounds – an account dedicated to cats who live in Syria. The furry friends in the pictures appear to be strays.
Life on the street can be hard for any animal, but even worse in a place like Syria, which has been gripped by a civil war since 2011. However, thanks to a group of people in Damascus, many cats who would normally have to desperately scrounge for their next meal can now head to special food and drink spots.
One particularly heartwarming photo shows the tiniest of kittens that was rescued from the street.
Another shows a man delivering dinner to 11 hungry felines.
Other photos have been retweeted from @theAleppoCatman, also known as 'Alaa the Aleppo Catman.' The ambulance driver and paramedic told NBC News last year that he's been caring for vulnerable cats in Aleppo since 2013, and runs his own sanctuary called 'Ernesto's House' – named after his first cat, of course.
