Tank flips over after military parade in Russian city of Kursk (VIDEO)

A mishap involving a T-34 tank shocked spectators following a military parade in the city of Kursk, western Russia, the scene of a major World War II battle. It slipped off a ramp as it drove onto a transport truck.

The famous Russian city held a military parade on Thursday dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Soviet soldiers’ victory over Nazi forces in the landmark Battle of Kursk in 1943. The parade itself, which featured advanced Russian military vehicles and aircraft, went off without any hiccups – but one bizarre blunder did occur right after the event finished.

A classic T-34 tank was attempting to board a transport truck, when it suddenly fell off the side and flipped over, terrifying onlookers. Videos posted on social media show that soldiers standing nearby were fortunate to escape being crushed by the heavy vehicle, but luckily no-one was injured.

Eyewitnesses claimed that they even saw smoke billowing from the tank but a small fire was quickly put out by firefighters, according to local media. The tank was eventually taken back to the platform and safely transported to its base.
