The debate over whether transgender female athletes competing in elite women’s sport have an unfair advantage has ended in the usual way, with cries of transphobia against anyone who believes they do.
It boils down to the rights of transgender women to compete in female sport vs the rights of women concerned that they are at a disadvantage when going up against people who may still exhibit male traits of, for example, speed and strength.
