Roof of Paris' Notre Dame Cathedral has completely collapsed (VIDEO)
The roof of the iconic Notre Dame Cathedral (Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris) has completely collapsed amid the devastating fire in Paris. Shortly before, the spire of the cathedral was consumed by the flames as well.
The devastating fire broke out at the heart of the French capital late on Monday, swiftly engulfing the 13th-century building. The cathedral was undergoing repairs, as its roof and spire were in scaffolding.
Footage from the scene, as well as eyewitnesses' accounts, indicate that the roof of the historic building has completely collapsed. Some of the scaffolding still stands while open fire emits from the inside of the building.

The Paris prosecutor's office has started an inquiry into the Notre Dame Cathedral fire.
