INTENSE VIDEO captures FIERY landing of Superjet-100

Dramatic video footage captured the intense moment Russian pilots landed the flaming Superjet-100 aircraft at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport, after an in-flight emergency forced a crash landing. 41 lives were lost in the tragedy.

Aeroflot Flight SU1492 had declared an emergency shortly after departing Sheremetyevo on Sunday, and circled Moscow before crash landing. Video footage captured from the airport shows the Sukhoi Superjet-100 touching down as it leaves a massive trail of fire and smoke in its wake.

Fire crews rushed to the scene, along with dozens of ambulances. All 78 passengers were initially confirmed evacuated, then reports say at least 13 of them died, including two children and, finally, the news that 41 people had lost their lives was announced.

The commuter aircraft had made several flights earlier on Sunday, and was heading to Murmansk before its fatal emergency landing.
