Russian Deputy PM Chernyshenko: Games of the Future are over, but it’s just the beginning for the phygital movement
Chernyshenko spoke at the closing ceremony of Games of the Future in Kazan.
“We did it; the first-ever Games of the Future have taken place. Russia invented and held a tournament in new sports disciplines, in the phygital format. It was a technological, spectacular, and inspiring tournament. Spectators from over 100 countries watched competitions at the intersection of sports and esports; athletes gave us incredible emotions. We have a globally recognised sports brand, and this is a success.
Russia has proven its leading role in the global sports community. Thanks to all the athletes for their open and honest competition; you are pioneers of phygital sports, and your victories have inspired the world. Thanks to the fans for their support in the stands, a huge thanks to hospitable Kazan and the Republic of Tatarstan.
We thank everyone who created incredible conditions for all participants and spectators. Another proof of how Kazan can welcome guests. Today Kazan bids farewell to the tournament, but for Games of the Future themselves, it’s just the beginning. We pass the baton to new cities and countries to delight people around the world and involve as many people as possible in the new phygital movement,” said Chernyshenko.
