RT releases ‘Bullet for the President’ documentary

RT has retraced the footsteps of the would-be assassin who fired shots at former US president and Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump, during a rally this summer, in a new investigative documentary called “Bullet for the President.”

Trump survived the attempt on his life at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania in July. A bullet passed just millimeters away from the 78-year-old’s head and a projectile grazed his ear. The attack, in which several shots were fired, left one person dead and two others severely wounded. The gunman, who turned out to be a 20-year-old local man, was killed on the spot by US Secret Service snipers.

What was behind the assassination attempt? How likely is it that there was a conspiracy? Why does the US system seem afraid of outsider presidents like Trump? Could next Tuesday’s election lead to unpredictable consequences? Journalist Vladimir Soloviev investigates the assassination attempt on Donald Trump, one of the most high-profile events of its kind in US history.
