Arshavin snatches his first award in England
Good news awaited Andrey Arshavin in London on his return from Liechtenstein – he was named Arsenal’s Player of the Month.
The Russian player made a flying start to his Arsenal career and scooped more than half the votes in the poll conducted at the club's official website.
The Gunners fans preferred Arshavin to Dutch Robin van Persie, who received 10.9% of the vote and who had previously won four monthly awards in a row. Spain's Manuel Almunia finished third with 9.8%.
Arsenal won all five of the games Arshavin appeared in during March, and the deadline-day signing of the player has already racked up five assists and a world-class goal for joining the club, notes Arsenal's official website.
