Russia’s Federal Security Service in the Volgograd region is to teach children about terrorism by using cartoons.
The videos feature emergency situations including terror scares prompted by abandoned belongings, terrorism warnings by phone and the keeping of illegal weapons. The 30-second clips are based on examples of “right” and “wrong”, and use rhyme. The main character is a little boy who finds himself in different real-life situations. The cartoons will be broadcast on Volgograd TV channels, in big stores, on street screens and in public transport. The animation was the idea of officers from Volgograd Security Service and Volgograd city Internal Affairs Department. A similar scheme was carried out in Novosibirsk.
