A Federal Security Service officer has been killed in a car bombing in Russia's Southern Republic of Dagestan.
The device exploded early Thursday while Akhmed Abdullayev, the head of an FSB department in Tsumadinsky district in Dagestan, was getting in to an agency vehicle to drive to the office.
A local policeman, who spotted two suspects at the site of the blast, was wounded when he tried to stop the criminals. They opened fire on him and escaped into a nearby forest.
Both cases are currently under investigation.
