Iran war games simulate foreign invasion (VIDEO)

Iran has demonstrated its war-readiness after extensive military exercises started in central Iran. The country’s elite Revolutionary Guard is simulating a defensive war against a foreign attacker.

The Revolutionary Guard is a religious militia and is considered the support base for President Mahmoud Ahmadinjead. This is the third such exercise in the last 12 months.The manoeuvres come at the end of a tumultuous week in Iran’s relationship with the West. The Islamic Republic claimed significant progress in its nuclear program, ventured into the Mediterranean with its navy, and was blamed for a series of terrorist attacks on Israeli diplomatic missions.
