Isinbayeva sets two records in one day
Russian pole vault champion Elena Isinbayeva has set two world records in one day during an indoor tournament in the Ukrainian city of Donetsk on Sunday.
She first took the height of 4.97 metres, which broke her previous record of 4.95 set a year ago at the same tournament, but that was not enough for the 26-year-old. She then went on to break that record in the next attempt, setting the new all time high in the female indoor pole vault with the mark of 5.00 metres.
Isinbayeva is a regular participant in of Donetsk tournament, where she has set world records for six years in a row. She was even awarded with a title of a honorary citizen of Donetsk.
Elena Isinbayeva, named the best athlete of 2008 by IAAF, also holds the outdoor world record of 5.05 metres, which she set at the Beijing Olympics last summer.
