Kostya Tszyu holds master class for youngsters

World boxing champion Kostya Tszyu and world rhythmic gymnastics champion Irina Tchashchina have held a master class for young athletes in Moscow. The point is to promote a healthy way of life to children to get kids from the streets into a gym.

At least 6,000 boys and girls of all ages picked up their training gear and autograph books and made their way to one of the capital’s sports arenas. The event was organised by the Moscow government is an opportunity for youngsters to get close to their role models and learn some training techniques. Former undisputed world champion Kostya Tszyu, who has a charity fund bearing his name, is no stranger at this kind of functions. He said he was very proud to be part of the event. After a show of skills by some of the most talented gymnastics students, the world champion Irina Tchashchina shared some of her workout methods. The little gymnasts were trying to replicate every move with exact precision. It doesn't matter if they get it wrong this time. What matters is that they can almost touch their idols which should motivate them to become just as successful. This event, just like others designed to promote a healthy way of life for children is organised and promoted by the state. And sport celebrities are more than happy to take part knowing there will be progress with their fair share of input. Kostya Tszyu, who’s both Russian and Aussie, says it’s a very good example, which he would like to take to Australia.
