There's been no let up in the fighting between Israeli forces and Hezbollah fighters in Lebanon.
In overnight attacks, Israeli war planes hit targets in Bekaa Valley, in the west of the country, while artillery pounded the southern town of Kiam. In southern Beirut, rescue workers used their bare hands to dig through the rubble of a house flattened by an Israeli air strike. Witnesses say at least 18 people were killed in the attack. Earlier, Israel destroyed the last remaining bridge over the river Litany near Tyre, crippling the aid effort in much of southern Lebanon.
