A huge fire has erupted in a hangar located at Moscow’s Air Force Academy in the north of the capital. Firefighters struggled for hours to put out the flames, and helicopters had to be called in as well.
The fire, which started in the hangar, quickly intensified, forcing firefighters to assign a difficulty level of 3 of a possible 5. Over two thousand square meters were ablaze, with plumes of thick smoke seen across the capital. Luckily, no one was injured, but the situation became intense after firefighters were seen running into the burning building and coming out with gas tanks that were stored there. Many local residents feared an explosion, but thanks to the combined efforts of men and machines, the fire in the hangar was contained. Overall, 47 fire brigades and 4 helicopters battled the blaze for over four hours.
