More than 16,000 counterfeit discs destroyed in Russia’s Far East
At least 16,000 counterfeit DVDs have been destroyed in the city of Blagoveschensk in Russia’s Far East. It's the biggest number of pirate copies destroyed at any one time. The discs were crushed under the tracks of a 50-tonne tank.
The DVDs were seized during a police raid in September last year and declared fake by the Russian Anti-piracy Commission.
The owner of the business selling the counterfeits was put on probation for three years.
