The new MIG-35 has made its first flight outside of Russia at the 6th Air India aerospace show, which opened in the city of Bangalore on Wednesday. Russia plans to bid for the chance to supply India's air force with over 100 new fighters.

According to Indian acceptance pilots, who tested the new MIG, these machines are exceptional and in comparison with others are rather easy to fly. This multifunctional fighter shows unique manoeuvrability due to its new super-powerful engine. Moreover, the plane stays very agile during a long flight. Russia plans to put this fighter on the upcoming tender for a multi-billion-dollar contract to supply 126 fighters to India. However, the MIG-35 is going to face tight competition, as the European warplane Eurofighter and the F-16 of the United States will take part in the tender, too.The precise cost of a future contract is estimated at $US 9 BLN and the new Russian fighter has good chances of winning it.Overall, India's market is certainly a priority for Russian defence companies. 44 of them are to display their products at the Air India show. Aircraft, avionics, aviation technologies, navigation aids and security systems are to be presented during the next 4 days.
