Authorities in Russia's far eastern city of Vladivostok have come up with a creative way to get rid of firearms seized by the police.
Firstly, the weapons are decommissioned and then broken down with hammers. Then all the scrap metal is brought to a steel plant to be melted before it is used in car and railway parts. So far, more than a tonne of fire arms and ammunition have undergone this transformation. According to Russian law, seized weapons have to be destroyed.
