Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has returned to Moscow, interrupting a working trip in Siberia, after terrorists exploded two bombs in the Metro, killing dozens.
He visited one of the hospitals in Moscow where four people were operated on and five others are now in intensive care units.
Speaking earlier in Krasnoyarsk, the Prime Minister said that the government would allocate additional means for strengthening security on public transport. “If necessary, we will have to make changes to the law, bearing in mind that municipal transport is not a state property,” Putin said. He stressed, however, that security is a common objective.
Putin also said that he had charged Transport Minister Igor Levitin and Health Minister Tatyana Golikova with preparing a governmental order to pay compensation to those wounded in the March 29 Moscow Metro attacks, as well as to the relatives of those killed. The Prime Minister said the order must be ready by Monday evening.
Two explosions took place on two stations of the Moscow Metro on Monday morning, killing at least 38 people and injuring dozens more.
