Moscow citizens have begun celebrations after Russia won the right to host the 2018 World Cup.
Just after FIFA’s executive committee’s decision had been announced on Thursday evening, people with flags flooded the streets of the country. Traffic jams in the center of Moscow have been enlivened with cars’ horns blaring and drivers have been saluting and congratulating each other.
Meanwhile, in the Russian city of Kazan, players have finished a 34-hour non-stop football match in support of the Russian bid. The match is claimed to have been included in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most long-lasting, with large numbers of fans in attendance.All participants and fans have also begun celebrating the victory.
