Are horror movies not horrifying enough for you? Go to a Russian drive-in cinema that is hiring a person to make your experience unforgettable by popping up behind your car window at the scariest point of a horror film.

With this ‘nonstandard’ approach to the movie-going experience in mind, the management of a theater in the northwestern Russian city of Syktyvkar, the capital of the Republic of Komi, aim to double down on the scariest moments of horror films.

“3D and IMAX are not exciting any more. But when a blood-soaked maniac from the screen approaches your car – this is when you feel everything to the full extent,” the owner of the theater told local media.

The main responsibility of the hired boogeyman would be to “look in viewers’ windows dressed up as a monster.”

“The position is not very typical and requires acting experience, as well as physical and psychological stamina,” the manager told Interfax.

Other job responsibilities include the provision of first aid to hapless moviegoers who faint, and to film their victims’ reactions.

“The appearance does not matter, but we are not going to hire an under-aged person,” the manager said, explaining that it is not known exactly how frightened patrons might react to seeing a monster appear in their rear window.

It was not revealed whether viewers will be told in advance about this new peculiar service, or whether it will come as a scary surprise.
