A German tourist has been killed by a shark at the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh. The 70-year-old woman bled to death in the water.
Earlier this week, three Russians and a Ukrainian were also attacked in a series of separate incidents on November 30 and December 1. According to the victims, all of them were swimming not far from the shore.After the first incident, the country’s Environment Ministry ordered people to stay out of the water around Sharm el-Sheikh.On Thursday Egyptian authorities stated the sharks that had attacked the four tourists had been killed and the 48-hour ban was lifted. However, local environmentalists claimed that some other animals were slaughtered, so the risk of new shark attacks remains.
