Sun, skis and hard rock: Russia's president and prime minister have been checking out one of the snow tracks that will be used for the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics.

Dmitry Medvedev and Vladimir Putin went to see part of the European Ski Cup being held this week in one of the region's most beautiful ski resorts, Roza Khutor, about 40 kilometers from the center of Sochi. Apart from the skiing, the two seemed to enjoy the soundtrack for the event featuring Deep Purple – particularly the president, who is known for his affection for rock music. Medvedev and Putin spent some time walking around the resort, talking to young sportsmen and hitting the ski slope themselves. The two did not shy away from the crowd, giving some people the chance to grab a photo with the country’s leaders.
