The valley, which is in the Far-Eastern peninsula, has over a million votes so far. The world heritage site is famous for its volcanoes, geysers and thermal pools. The springs were destroyed in a massive mudslide last year, but have since begun showing signs of recovery. Other contenders in the Seven Wonders list include St. Basil's Cathedral in Moscow, Lake Baikal, and the Peterhof Palace near St. Petersburg. The contest ends on June 12, which is the annual 'Day of Russia' holiday.
