Ukraine’s PM to be quizzed over poisoning
Ukraine's Prime Minister has been summoned to give evidence at a hearing into the poisoning of President Viktor Yushchenko four years ago. Yulia Timoshenko has been told to attend the Prosecutor General’s Office on Septe
Yushchenko became seriously ill in early September 2004, during a presidential election campaign in Ukraine. Doctors in Austria confirmed he had been poisoned with dioxin.
Some analysts say the prosecution will be looking for clues as to Timoshenko’s possible involvement.
The schism between the head of state and the head of government widened recently after Ukraine’s parliament adopted amendments limiting the powers of the President.
