Hoax bomb plots engineered ahead of US elections – journalist

The bombs mailed from Yemen and intercepted in the UK and Dubai last month, as well as other recently foiled attacks, are part of a scheme to score national security points for Barack Obama, says journalist Wayne Madsen.

Reports surfaced recently questioning the authenticity of the bombs, which officials claimed were addressed to Chicago synagogues. These reports suggest the bombs could have been part of a PR stunt, which Madsen says may have been “engineered” ahead of the election campaign. “This may have been another October surprise,” Madsen said, referring to the pre-midterm election period, adding that the aim of the scheme may have been to “make President Obama look like he was on the ball on national security issues.”
