Russian military denies reports on ISIS capture of 2 servicemen in Syria
The Russian military has denied reports on alleged capture of two of its servicemen by Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor governorate. “All servicemen of the Russian armed forces staying in Syria are safe and in a good condition,” TASS reported Thursday, citing a representative of Russia’s Khmeimim airbase. The base is 25km south of the city of Latakia.
