Spain’s Supreme Court calls on Catalonia parliament speaker, 5 MPs to testify

Spain’s Supreme Court has called on the speaker of Catalonia’s parliament, Carme Forcadell, to testify on November 2 and 3, a court spokeswoman said on Tuesday. Five other senior lawmakers from the region will also testify, Reuters reports. The Spanish state prosecutor on Monday called for rebellion and sedition charges to be brought against Catalan leaders over their push for independence from Spain.
