Russian Railways passenger trains start bypassing Ukraine

Russian Railways said Wednesday it opened a new route for passenger trains to bypass Ukraine. The first trains left Moscow and St. Petersburg heading to cities of the Stavropol and Krasnodar regions, according to a Prime news agency report. Freight traffic of trains on the Zhuravka-Millerovo route was opened two months ago. The construction of a 120km railway to bypass Ukraine began in 2014.
