Earthquake with 6.4 magnitude strikes off France’s New Caledonia in Pacific
An earthquake has struck 74 kilometers off France’s New Caledonia in the Pacific Ocean, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). Sunday’s quake had a magnitude of 6.4, the USGS announced, adding that the depth was 13 kilometers. The Pacific Tsunami Centre said later in a statement that “a destructive pacific-wide tsunami is not expected.”
