Russia and US hold consultations on North Korea
The Russian and US foreign offices are holding consultations on the North Korean crisis on permanent basis, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov said while on a visit to Seoul as cited by Ria Novosti. During his trip the deputy minister is to meet South Korean special envoy Lee Do-hoon to discuss the North Korean settlement. “We are in constant dialogue with our American colleagues on this topic. Contacts are maintained through the Foreign Ministry and the State Department,” the diplomat said. He added that it is “too early” to talk about the timing of official negotiations on the issue, but said that such meeting could “theoretically” take place.
