2 mountain climbers die in Slovakia
Two Czech mountain climbers, a 47-year-old sportswoman and her 60-year-old partner, died in the Tatra Mountains in Slovakia, TASS reported Sunday, citing local radio. After having climbed one of the mountain tops, they failed to descend before sunset and had to spend the night in the mountains in severe weather conditions, emergency services said. The climbers did not have special equipment and died of exhaustion and freeze burns, according to officials who found the bodies meter-deep in the snow.
