Ankara did not violate US sanctions against Iran – Erdogan
Turkey did not violate US sanctions against Iran and “did the right thing” regardless of the outcome of the ongoing case in the US, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was quoted by CNN Turk as saying on Thursday. On Wednesday, Turkish-Iranian gold trader Reza Zarrab described in a US court how he ran an international money laundering scheme “aimed at helping Iran get around US sanctions and spend its oil and gas revenues abroad,” Reuters said. The case has further strained ties between Ankara and Washington.
