Saudi Arabia working with Israel, Sunni Arab states to fight terrorism – CIA director Pompeo

Saudi Arabia is working directly with Israel and other Sunni Arab nations to fight terrorism, CIA director Mike Pompeo said during the Reagan National Defense Forum in California on Saturday. Pompeo added that such cooperation will likely result in Gulf states and the broader Middle East being “more secure.” Former CIA director and defense secretary Leon Panetta then called on moderate Sunni Arab states to form a coalition with Israel, the US, and Turkey, and to possibly run a joint military operations center, The Jerusalem Post reported. It comes just weeks after the chief of Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said Tel Aviv is ready to exchange intelligence about Iran with Riyadh and other moderate Arab countries.
