Athens, Ankara to launch confidence-building measures as Erdogan visits Greece
Greece and Turkey have agreed to launch “confidence-building measures,” Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said on Thursday during a visit by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Athens. “We agreed to resume talks, under our supervision, on confidence and security measures, as well as exploratory talks on the continental shelf,” Tsipras said, as cited by Reuters. “We tried to do away with misunderstandings, to understand what the other person means,” the Greek PM said. “From my side I have stressed that Turkish violations [in Aegean airspace] must end,” he added.
