Direct flights between Moscow and Egypt’s capital, Cairo, may resume in February “if there are no other changes and events,” Russian Transportation Minister Maksim Sokolov said on Friday. The flights could be resumed in the first half of February, the minister told Russia 24 TV channel. The airport in the capital of Egypt fully meets all the requirements of aviation security, he said, citing experts. However, Sokolov noted that the airports of the resort Egyptian cities of Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada “still have work to do” on security. “This is a task for the next year,” TASS quoted him as saying.
