Argentine Navy chief fired following submarine’s tragic disappearance - report
The head of the Argentine Navy, Admiral Marcelo Eduardo Hipólito Srur, was reportedly sacked by Argentine’s defense minister, La Nacion reported. Earlier this month, the Navy abandoned its rescue mission for the crew of the ARA San Juan submarine, which went missing in the Atlantic in November with 44 sailors on board. The submarine, that has not been tracked so far, is thought to have sunk due to an onboard explosion, allegedly caused by a battery malfunction.
