3 militants killed by Russian security forces in Dagestan

Three militants have been neutralized by security forces in the village of Gubden, in Russia’s southern Republic of Dagestan, the National Anti-Terrorist Committee (NAC) said. The three armed men had barricaded themselves inside a building were resisting arrest by firing at the law enforcers, NAC added. One of the terrorists killed was identified as gang leader Aligadzhi Khamutaev, who was wanted for the murder of eight people and attacks on police. Firearms, grenades and ammunition were discovered at the site, NAC said, adding that there were no casualties among civilians or security personnel during the operation.
