Abbas to visit Moscow ‘very soon’ - Palestenian leader's aide
The President of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, will visit Russia very soon, his aid Nabil Shaath told reporters Tuesday. Abbas has visited Moscow several times already and “will come here very soon,” the official said, adding, that Abbas has “special relationship” with Russia. Palestine has intensified its diplomatic outreach following the US decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Palestine’s leader has already visited a number capitals and “is now heading to Paris,” Shaath said. “We [are] working actively with Russia, China and Europe to form an international forum which will oversee the [Israeli-Palestinian] peace process in the future, since we could not accept the US monopoly on it any longer,” Shaath stated.
