Tennis star Venus Williams cleared of fault in fatal car crash

Palm Beach Gardens, Florida police concluded Wednesday that no charges would be brought in a fatal car crash case involving tennis star Venus Williams, according to the Sun Sentinel. Police initially blamed Williams for the June 9 accident, which resulted in the death Jerome Barson, 78. In July, surveillance video showed Williams’ account to be true, in that that a dark-colored car cut in front of her in the middle of an intersection as her light turned red. Barson’s vehicle, driven by his wife, then T-boned Williams after entering the intersection on a green light. Barson’s family is suing Williams for wrongful death.
