Turkish MPs approve extension of state of emergency for 3 months
Turkey extended a state of emergency by three months late on Thursday after parliament ratified the bill, the Daily Sabah reports. It is the sixth time the state of emergency has been extended in the country. First it was declared on July 20, 2016, following a failed coup attempt. Thousands suspected of involvement in the coup bid have been arrested since then by security forces, many of them in the government and military.
