Kremlin accuses US of ‘egregious violation of norms’ after new sanctions
The Kremlin is closely studying the impact on Russian markets of sanctions imposed by the US on Friday, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said. The situation with sanctions is “egregious from the point of view of legality as well as from the point of view of violating norms of all and everything,” Peskov said on Monday. The Kremlin is liaising with the Russian government on measures to mitigate the effect of sanctions and will soon decide on retaliatory measures. Russia’s Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev asked the government to draft proposals on support for domestic companies exposed to the US sanctions.
