Seven Iranians were killed in Israel’s airstrike in Syria on Sunday, and their bodies were taken to Tehran for funerals, Iran’s Tasnim news agency reported on Tuesday. Earlier, Iranian reports said four personnel were killed. Syria’s government and its ally Iran have accused Israel of carrying out the attack on the Tiyas, or T-4, airbase near Homs. Ali Akbar Velayati, the top adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, on Tuesday described the strike on the Syrian military airbase as “Israel’s crime,” adding that it “will not remain without response,” according to the Lebanese al-Mayadeen channel.
