Loud explosions rock UN base in Mali
Several blasts have been heard near the UN peacekeeping mission base in the northern Mali city of Timbuktu, known as the "Super Camp," Reuters reports. A local UN source said that the UN camp was targeted by mortar fire. There have been no reports about any casualties yet. On April 14, local Islamist militants targeted the base with a car bomb attack and rocket strikes, which killed one peacekeeper from Burkina Faso and left seven French soldiers injured.
