Trump lawyer Cohen pleads the Fifth in Stormy Daniels case
President Donald Trump’s personal attorney, Michael Cohen, is asserting his 5th Amendment rights in the case brought by adult actress Stormy Daniels, citing the April 9 FBI raid on his office. “Based upon the advice of counsel, I will assert my 5th amendment rights in connection with all proceedings in this case due to the ongoing criminal investigation by the FBI and US Attorney for the Southern District of New York,” Cohen said in a court filing on Wednesday. The rights he is invoking protect any American from being “compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself.”
