Armenian President Armen Sarkissian has dismissed the head of the security service and the police chief at the request of newly elected Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the presidential press service said on Thursday. Opposition leader Pashinyan was elected Prime Minister by parliament earlier this week after mass protests against corruption and cronyism in the ex-Soviet republic. Pashinyan said on Wednesday he would meet Russian President Vladimir Putin next week. The meeting will take place on the sidelines of the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) summit in the Black Sea resort of Sochi.
