Volkswagen to recall 410,000 vehicles over seat belt concerns
Volkswagen is to recall 410,000 cars over faulty seat belts, which affects some of the German brand’s vehicles, as well as those of its Spanish subsidiary SEAT. In a statement, the group warned that “in rare situations” when both the rear center seat and the rear left seat are occupied at the same time, the left seat belt lock could be released in some of its 2018 VW Polo cars. Some SEAT Ibiza and Arona vehicles that carry similar belt locks are also affected. Customers are being warned not to use the middle seat in the new Polo until it is equipped with a redesigned belt-lock fixture.
